Biotechnologie kan bijdragen aan een duurzame landbouw.Naast de traditionele veredelingsmethoden bestaan er genetische en microbiologische technieken om de landbouw en veeteelt minder belastend te maken voor het milieu en de samenleving. Zowel in de akkerbouw als in de veeteelt zijn deze nieuwe technieken sterk in opkomst als aanvulling op de bestaande teelt- en veredelingsmethoden.In dit boek wordt ingegaan op allerlei aspecten van de huidige landbouwrevolutie: de techniek, de voedselveiligheid, de wetgeving, het maatschappelijk debat enz.
